My Delicious Better Butter Recipe
Doesn’t everyone love butter? It makes everything taste better! But we all know that we should be limiting our daily intake of fats, so I have come up with a recipe I call “Better Butter.” I have been making this recipe for years, and everyone who tastes it loves it! It gives you the taste of butter but is half plant-based. It spreads so easily! And it’s simple to make: only 2 ingredients!!
Ingredients and Instructions
Better Butter: soften 2 sticks of butter (1 cup) until they are at room temperature. Add the softened butter to a medium bowl and beat with a mixer until creamy. Add 1 cup of canola oil and beat until thoroughly mixed. Pour mixture in a bowl or container with lid (I divide the recipe into 2 separate bowls). Keep refrigerated.
This recipe will make 2 cups of Better Butter. It is important to keep it refrigerated because when it warms to room temperature it will become very soft. I use it in many recipes, and we eat it instead of butter all the time- we’re never without it! You can make it with olive oil instead of canola oil. Just remember to keep it covered in the refrigerator because it will absorb food odors if left uncovered.
Now let’s talk about the fat content of Better Butter. Keep in mind that this mix is still all fat- it’s just not all animal fat! So it’s much healthier than 100% butter, but please remember that fat is fat! Since Better Butter is easier to spread than butter, you can use just the right amount and put it exactly where you want it!
